5. After the Interview

In this lesson, you are encouraged to consider the reflective process and follow-up that you should undertake after the interview.

After the Interview

Once your interview is over, there are many things you can do to reflect on and improve your interview skills. As we learned in the previous lesson, you can also follow-up with the interviewer to thank them and gather feedback, if necessary.

Here are some suggestions after the interview:

  • Reflect on your interview and think about your overall performance. What did you do well? What might you do differently next time?
  • Be sure to write a follow-up email to thank the interviewer for the opportunity.
  • If you don’t get the position, consider contacting the interviewer to thank them and politely ask for some constructive feedback on the interview.

Remember that each interview is a chance to practice and refine your communication skills and interview techniques. Even after you find the job that’s right for you, these skills will be helpful to you throughout your entire career!
