All healthcare regulators in Ontario set criteria that internationally educated practitioners must meet for their initial registration.
We probe more deeply into this process in course 4, ‘Professional Regulatory Bodies’ course. Once the regulator determines an applicant’s eligibility for licensure, where the individual completed his or her education becomes irrelevant from a licensing perspective. As an employer, however, you may want to know about the quality and status of a particular institution during the recruitment or selection process. You may also want to obtain general information about the education system in the applicant’s country of education. To assist you, we have provided you with an assortment of helpful tools at the end of this course.
